Image Settings in the Desktop Light Version

In Markeaze, there are several settings for an image block:

• Alt text (the text that appears if your image cannot be loaded. It's recommended to always set this, as mail services may lower your spam rating without alt text).
• Add a link to the image (clicking on the image will redirect to a specified page).
• Set a hover for the image (the image changes to another one you set when hovered over).
• Change the image size (in width, in pixels).
• Make the image full screen.
• Set a background color under the image.
• Set a border style for the image block.
• Align the image (align the image to the right, left, or center).
• Set paddings for the image (distance below, to the left, to the right, or above the image).
• Enable or disable the display of the image block on desktop or mobile devices.
• Convert the image block to HTML.

How to Set Alt Text for an Image?

Alt text (alternative text) is a crucial component of professional emails. Firstly, it's necessary for describing the image to clients whose mail service blocks images. Secondly, the presence of alternative text affects the spam rating of your email (without alt text, it's ranked lower).

To set alt text for an image in Markeaze, you need to set the image and in the right panel, in the alt text field, enter a description of the image.

What's the Best Text to Write in the Alt Text of an Image?

• Alt text should clearly describe what is shown in the image. For example, if it's a promotion, you can write its terms - "-30% off blouses and sweaters", or if it's a screenshot for instruction, describe what is shown.
• Try to make the alt text not too long, no more than 120 characters.
• Do not use the same alt text for two images.

How to Add a Link to an Image?

To add a link under an image, go to the image block settings and in the right panel, enable the toggle next to Link on image. After this, you can insert a link. It will always open in a new browser tab.

How to Change the Size of an Image?

Click on the image block and in the right settings panel find the sizing item. Here you can change the size of the image (width) in pixels. The maximum width of the image corresponds to the size of the email - 600 pixels.

❗️ Important: This size corresponds only to the size of the image inside the email. The actual image can be larger or smaller, then it will either compress or stretch to fit in the block. We recommend using 1.5 times the size of the required image size so that the image in the email is clear (for example, you need an image for an email width of 600 pixels, but it's better to save it with a size of 900 pixels and then upload it to Markeaze).

❗️ Important: We recommend compressing images before uploading them to the email, as the size of the image affects the final size of the email. This can be done using online services for compressing images without losing quality.

How to Make an Image Full Width of the Block?

To make an image full width of the block, click on the image block and in the right panel in the Sizing section, enable the toggle next to Adjust to width.

How to Set a Background Color Under an Image?

Click on the image block and in the right settings panel find the background item. Set the desired color in hex format there.

How to Set a Border for an Image Block and Edit Border Styles?

Click on the image block and go to the right settings panel. Find the background item and enable the toggle next to the border style. Now you can edit the width, color, style of the border, or set rounding.

How to Change the Alignment of an Image?

To align the image to the right or left edge or in the center, click on the image block and in the right settings panel find the Position item. Here you can select the align for the image.

How to Set Padding for an Image?

To increase or decrease the distance in the block below, above, to the right, or to the left of the image, click on the image block and in the right settings panel find the Position item. Here you can set values for paddings on different sides or the same for all sides.

Image Settings in the Mobile Version

In the mobile theme, you can modify some image settings, specifically:

• Edit the size of the image or make it full-width
• Change the alignment of the image

To adjust the mobile image settings, switch to the mobile version of the editor, click on the image block, and modify the parameters in the right panel.

Image Settings in Dark Mode

For optimal email display in dark mode, Markeaze offers the ability to add a different image for the dark theme, which will differ from the regular version. This way, you can create light and dark versions of banners or products, ensuring your email looks perfect on all devices.
