Setting Email Subject Line and Preheader

Setting the subject line and preheader adds corresponding <title> and <preheader> tags to the code and is exported along with the main code. This is useful if your email sending system does not allow you to set the preheader independently. However, primarily, this is necessary to correctly test email sending, as without a subject line, preheader, and sender, the email will likely go to spam (or might not be delivered at all).

How to set the email subject line, preheader, and sender?

  1. Go to the desired email and enter the email settings section (second icon from the bottom on the right panel).
  2. Write the subject of your email and the preheader.

❗️Important:

  • The recommended length for the subject line is 5 to 20 characters.
  • The recommended length for the preheader is 50 to 70 characters (up to 100 is possible, but part of it may not be visible on mobile devices).

Tips on how to create title and preheader of an email.

Email Title (Subject Line):

  1. Keep it Concise: Aim for 6 to 10 words. Short and sweet subject lines are more likely to capture attention.
  2. Create Urgency: Use time-sensitive language to encourage prompt action, like "Limited time offer" or "Last chance."
  3. Personalize: Include the recipient's name or other personal details to make the email feel more tailored and engaging.
  4. Be Clear and Direct: Avoid misleading titles. Ensure your subject line accurately reflects the content of the email.
  5. Use Action Words: Start with verbs that inspire action, such as "Discover," "Join," or "Get."

Email Preheader:

  1. Complement the Subject Line: The preheader should support or expand upon the subject line, not just repeat it.
  2. Provide Additional Context: Use this space to give a brief preview of the email content to entice the reader to open it.
  3. Keep it Short: Ideal preheader length is around 40-50 characters to ensure it displays well across devices.
  4. Include a Call to Action: If appropriate, incorporate a subtle call to action to intrigue readers, such as "Find out more inside."
  5. Avoid Filler Words: Start with important information; avoid filler text like "Having trouble viewing this email?"

Together, a well-crafted email title and preheader set the stage for the content of your email, enticing recipients to open and engage with your message.
