How to create and track custom attributes

Alex Cowell Updated by Alex Cowell

If you’d like to track more visitor data beyond Markeaze’s enhanced visitor setup and tracking, you can visit General Settings, then Attributes.

Markeaze’s basic personal attributes included in enhanced visitor setup include:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Gender
  • Date of birth

In this guide, we’ll show you how to create additional custom attributes to track in Markeaze.

Note: Markeaze strongly recommends creating custom attributes only if you have JavaScript experience.

Input the necessary information under New Attribute, and then click Save & Close.

These attributes you create will pass to Markeaze from your website by manually assigning visitor data (to learn more, visit “How to install Markeaze with Google Tag Manager”).

Using the code template below, you must nest custom visitor attributes under the “properties: { }” section of the Java object. See code template below.

mkz('setVisitorInfo', {,
  client_id: ‘...’,
  email: ‘...’,
  properties: {
    my_custom_str_key: ‘my_value’,
    my_custom_num_key: 1234
